ALTA/NSPS Survey Standards

2016 Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys

The ALTA/NSPS Liaison Committee (consisting of both the American Land Title Association and the National Society of Professional Surveyors) has approved modifications to the 2011 version of the Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys. The new version will be referred to as the 2016 Standards with the effective date of February 23, 2016. Below is a link to a white paper co-written by two Company underwriting counsel, which provides highlights of some of those changes to the 2011 land title survey standards which will be of the most significance to the title insurance industry and real estate practitioners, as well as a link to the 2016 Standards.
